So what does this mean for the rest of the world? For the most part, nothing. What is of concerns is if this sets precedence for other countries that are in the postal agreement. The postal services hiking their tariffs is a big problem for e-commerce as most of the international shipping from China to the various countries are done by the postal services. With the exception for Southeast-Asia, where 3PLs are flourishing at the e-commerce boom.

Within Southeast-Asia, there wouldn't be much changes as it doesn't really affect anyone! Rather, you will just observe a shift in operations as the e-commerce merchants try to bypass this inconvenience. That being said, if you're within the region of Asia, business is as usual! If you're in the United States or doing business there, you'll have about another year before anything is set in stone!
