Anies Baswedan, the governor of Jakarta has announced tighter measures to their PSBB (Pembatasan Sosial Berskala Besar) or Large Scale Social Distancing. With Jakarta being the largest city Indonesia, new measures are in effect from 10 April 2020.
Much like Singapore's "Circuit Breaker", Jakarta will face tighter measures. All public facilities such as parks, meeting venues, gyms and outdoor workout facilities, museums and offices will be closed. It is unclear until when this will continue as of writing, but we will update you accordingly.
Exceptions to the mandated closures are for those in essential services such as health services (hospitals, clinics, labs), F&B, oil & gas, communications, finance & banking, logistics and distributions, and local general stores and public transportation.
This is unprecedent times and with this in Jakarta, it is also an unprecedented event to occur. We're seeing a trend go throughout the world as countries and cities hunker down in efforts to limit exposure of its people and enhance containment of the spread.
With the new measures put in place, Indonesia will not (as of writing) limit the movement of people and cargo between cities and states and logistics will continue to function without disruption.
